A spellbinding exploration of religious fundamentalism in a patriarchal society, "Women's Minyan" is based on a true and continuing story that for years wound its way through the Israeli courts. When a highly respected ultra-orthodox rabbi's wife returns home to see her children after abandoning her family two years earlier, her women friends and relatives judge her fitness to do so. Hearing for the first time what led to her divorce, they explore the boundaries between religion and social convention, truth and falsehood, and women's true place in the religious world.
