Presenting J-CAT’s exciting new addition to its after school theatre programming!
Students can learn the fundamentals of circus training, magic, pantomime, and
experience an exhilarating introduction to the culturally rich world of theatre! All the
classes will participate in an end-of-season presentation for family and friends that will
display the result of their fun-filled efforts.
Instructors: Lillian Andron and Ana Hernandez. Lillian is a certified Meisner instructor,
having trained with world renowned Meisner instructor, Larry Silverberg. Ana is a child
education specialist hailing from South Florida. A graduate from New York University’s
Tisch School of the Arts and the University of Miami, Ana’s conservatory training and
stimulating curricula focus on the various forms of circus training, theatre, dance, video
production, and music.

Magic, Juggling, and Circus Training - See Schedule below

Learn magic tricks and develop the skills necessary to present material to an audience.
Juggling, face painting, balloon art, pantomime, and clowning technique. Culminates in
a final performance where students will present skills learned through the “circus
characters” they developed.

Learn Improvisation games, exercise your creativity in front of a live audience. Learn the
parts of the stage, gain tools to develop your comedic chops, learn the rules of live
improvisation, and develop techniques to improve concentration skills and creative
repertoire. Introduction to Pantomime and the art of silent theatre- understanding
physicality of character development and the control necessary to perfect the art form.

An integrative approach to Video Production. Students will produce their own script, and
learn to develop a story line in front of the camera. Includes everything from developing
story ideas, to executing them in front of the camera.

Meisner Technique Adult Acting Class - See Schedule below

What do Grace Kelly, Gregory Peck, Robert Duval, Susan Sarandon, Diane Keaton, and
Jeff Goldblum have in common? They all trained in the Meisner technique. Now this
transformative system for training actors is at the MAR-JCC in Lillian Andron’s adult acting
classes. This is a serious class for serious students and enrollment is limited.

Winter Mini-Camp
An exciting medley of circus training, magic, juggling, pantomime, and theatre games.
Students will be able to exercise their personal creativity while developing an appreciation
for the theatre, professional work ethic, theatrical skills, and the ability to explore their
world through an artistic lens.
